Not Even Investors Know What Google Glass Is For

Bdking writes:

Google says it plans to ship its Google Glass Explorer Edition by the end of April to developers and consumers who paid $1,500 to test the computer-enabled eyewear, with vague plans for a general release (at a lower price) by year’s end. But what will you really be able to do with Google Glass, beyond having information presented before your eyes? Even investors who are set to spend millions funding apps development for Google Glass have no clue. Is Google Glass being overhyped as a ‘transformational’ device?

Yet another marketing gimmick!

Microsoft Apologizing For #dealwithit Comments on Next-generation Xbox

Official Microsoft Statement on Majornelson:

We apologize for the inappropriate comments made by an employee on Twitter yesterday. This person is not a spokesperson for Microsoft, and his personal views do not reflect the customer centric approach we take to our products or how we would communicate directly with our loyal consumers. We are very sorry if this offended anyone, however we have not made any announcements about our product roadmap, and have no further comment on this matter.

I think Microsoft apology has more to do with disregarding the Internet connectivity in smaller towns but not the Always-on debacle. Anyway, I’m afraid the Nextbox (Xbox 720) will require an always-on kinda DRM after all?!

Google Announces ‘Google Keep’

To solve this problem we’ve created Google Keep. With Keep you can quickly jot ideas down when you think of them and even include checklists and photos to keep track of what’s important to you. Your notes are safely stored in Google Drive and synced to all your devices so you can always have them at hand.

This is cool. But, who trusts that “Google Keep” will not end up getting the same fate of “Google Reader”?!
